Each week we’ll endeavour to publish some details of the interesting things that members of DoES Liverpool have been up to over the past seven days. You can find out a bit more about them in our introductory post.
And remember, if you’re involved with DoES Liverpool at all, let us know what you get up to so we can include it here! The easiest way is to post on Mastodon—if we follow you there, just add #weeknotes to any post you want included. If you’re not on Mastodon but would like to be, chat to one of the organisers and we’ll help you get started. And of course, you can always just send us an email!
Things of Note
- michael:Work #weeknotes: migrating my website away from Dream’s templating to using code to generate HTML instead:https://digitalflapjack.com/weeknotes/webbplats-update/This is part of trying to move my website to run on the new #OCaml effected based I/O system. Dream was great, but my website is a place for me to experiment with, so it’s time to make a mess of it in the name of science 🙂
- DoES Liverpool:Darran has gifted an infrared camera to us, which lets us remind you that if you’re overheating WFH in this #heatwave, our co-working space has air-conditioning and you can book as little as a half-day here 😁Your first day is free if you bring cake (or other foodstuff) to share; in this weather, we’re thinking lolly ices…#Liverpool #coworking #weeknotes

- DoES Liverpool:Another successful repair at DoES Liverpool!

- matthewcroughan: Got the Flint 2 (MT6000) running plain ol’ #NixOS and it routes!#weeknotes #birkenhack

- Jackie Pease:What I aimed to send to the #DHMakes Mail Art Collaboration – it’s a mini version of the Quipu Column I made for the CDC Festival of Data in February ( https://github.com/JackiePease/QuipuColumn).
Unfortunately this took much longer than I expected (who’d have thought that a small version with exactly the same number of knots and cords as the large one would take around the same time), so I ended up posting just the 3D prints. I’m writing a post with notes of what I did and quicker ideas for using them.
