Each week we’ll endeavour to publish some details of the interesting things that members of DoES Liverpool have been up to over the past seven days. You can find out a bit more about them in our introductory post.
And remember, if you’re involved with DoES Liverpool at all, let us know what you get up to so we can include it here! The easiest way is to post on Mastodon – if we follow you there, just add #weeknotes to any post you want included. If you’re not on Mastodon but would like to be, chat to one of the organisers and we’ll help you get started. And of course, you can always just send us an email!
Community Meeting
It’s our monthly community meeting this Sunday, 3rd May from 1pm – 3pm. Come along and have your say in how DoES Liverpool is run. Everyone welcome. You can find the latest published meeting minutes here. Meeting IRL in our Event Space, or join in online at https://meet.jit.si/DoESLiverpoolCommunityMeeting if you can’t make it along in person.
Wirral MakeFest Finale
We had a great time at the final Wirral MakeFest on Saturday. Thanks to Alison and the team for organising, and thanks to all our DoES Liverpool volunteers. Alison has sent this link to an article in the Wirral Beacon.
Things of Note
- michael:Work #weeknotes: rendering 156 square kilometers of Swedish forest in Minecraft.https://digitalflapjack.com/weeknotes/rendering%20156%20km%5E2%20of%20swedish%20forest%20in%20minecraft/I’m always interested in how we engage people outside of our domain with the work we do, so I’ve been testing the waters of building Minecraft maps using the same techniques I use for our biodiversity analysis 🙂

- michael:Work #weeknotes: It’s not easy being green :)Nothing too exciting here, but I’ve been bad at weeknote updates as I’ve been fighting boring things going wrong with my LIFE pipeline and so there wasn’t much to share. However, negative results are still results, so I thought I’d write some of it up.https://digitalflapjack.com/weeknotes/work-life-balance/
- DoES Liverpool:Neil’s photos from Wirral MakeFest of our new eufyMake UV texture printer, on a year’s loan from the company.
Powei from eufy was kept busy producing fridge magnets.
