Each week we’ll endeavour to publish some details of the interesting things that members of DoES Liverpool have been up to over the past seven days. You can find out a bit more about them in our introductory post.
And remember, if you’re involved with DoES Liverpool at all, let us know what you get up to so we can include it here! The easiest way is to post on Mastodon – if we follow you there, just add #weeknotes to any post you want included. If you’re not on Mastodon but would like to be, chat to one of the organisers and we’ll help you get started. And of course, you can always just send us an email!
Projects at DoES
Neil has created a new page on the website to showcase projects, products, and other work created by members of the DoES Liverpool community. You can take a look here.
This is part of our wider effort to promote what we do to all the people who don’t know enough about us yet. If you have a project or piece of work you’d like to be featured, please get in touch with Neil.
Things of Note
- Adrian McEwen:Blogged the dog-eared pages from the last book I finished in 2025: Hacking Diversity by @inquilineMy copy will be on the @DoESLiverpool bookshelves shortly, if anyone wants to borrow ithttps://www.mcqn.net/mcfilter/books/blog_all_dogeared_pages_hacking_diversity_by_christina_dunbarhester/#bookstodon #hacking #diversity #weeknotes
- Jackie Pease:Cord maker drill attachment #2 – this time in PETG and with 3D printer grease as lubricant. It works a lot better, despite the print having lifted from the bed slightly, due to cold.
The second picture shows the output using jersey strips given to me by Sanna. I’m pleased with this but have run out of jersey – aiming to source some more!

In a world with mountains of plastic and molehills of play, let’s get our spades out and shift the balance. Make new things from abandoned plastic with us. Plantpots, purses … pedalos? Shred plastic. Blend it. Meld scraps together with a heat gun. Make sheets. Laser cut it. CNC it. Stitch potato bags together with soldering iron? Make fabrics with a regular iron? What have we got, what can we make? We don’t know – let’s figure it out! Facilitated by Plastic Tactics – follow on social for the latest updates, and to see what we make if you can’t be here in person: |
