Each week we’ll endeavour to publish some details of the interesting things that members of DoES Liverpool have been up to over the past seven days. You can find out a bit more about them in our introductory post.
And remember, if you’re involved with DoES Liverpool at all, let us know what you get up to so we can include it here! The easiest way is to post on Mastodon—if we follow you there, just add #weeknotes to any post you want included. If you’re not on Mastodon but would like to be, chat to one of the organisers and we’ll help you get started. And of course, you can always just send us an email!
Christmas Access
Access to the space will be fob holders only, except by prior arrangement, from the 24th of December – Christmas falling midweek is giving people a chance to extend their festivities a bit, so we’re less likely to have someone here to let you in. We’ll be back bright eyed and bushy tailed in the New Year though, opening for drop ins as usual from Monday January 5th.
Events in the New Year
Head to our events page for details of events happening at DoES Liverpool, including Len’s Pin Badge workshop and Andy’s Introduction to 3D Printers. And keep an eye out for updates, including the January DoES Salon and Terry’s Introduction to Laser Cutters.
Things of Note
- michael:Final work #weeknotes of the year:
- Looking again into area of habitat map validation, this time with input from a bunch of experts in the area.
- Chatting with one of the group PhD students who’s doing interesting things in the machine learning space
- I did some decidedly old-school non-ML hacking to try to increase the resolution of course map datasets using other high resolution ones. Fun learning was had.
- MCQN Ltd:A festive @museuminabox 3D print and an LED bike parade. This week’s #weeknoteshttps://mcqn.com/posts/week-1054-riding-home-for-christmas/
- Birkenhack:A letter arrived today from a not-so-secret admirer, thanks @neil for the love and appreciation!#birkenhead #birkenhack #christmas #weeknotes

- DoES Liverpool:Join us at DoES Liverpool on 4th January for a relaxed Pin Badge Making workshop at DoES Liverpool [and/or gift a place to someone as a last minute Christmas present!]. It’s a bright, low-pressure way to try something new, meet like-minded people, and leave with something you’ve made yourself. No skills needed, no stress – just ideas, creativity, and a bit of hands-on fun. For £20, everything is provided, and you’ll go home with badges you can wear, gift, or keep.
