Each week we’ll endeavour to publish some details of the interesting things that members of DoES Liverpool have been up to over the past seven days. You can find out a bit more about them in our introductory post.
And remember, if you’re involved with DoES Liverpool at all, let us know what you get up to so we can include it here! The easiest way is to post on Mastodon—if we follow you there, just add #weeknotes to any post you want included. If you’re not on Mastodon but would like to be, chat to one of the organisers and we’ll help you get started. And of course, you can always just send us an email!
Xmas Party Roundup (from Neil’s post for @DoESLiverpool on Instagram)
A big thank you to everyone who came along to our Dongo’s Dingo Christmas delight. The venue looked beautiful and then we filled it with fun, laughter, karaoke, Games and Bingo. And everyone brought such lovely food to share.
An additional thanl you to our team of lovely Elves who helped, Terry, Kirsty, Jackie and Drunken Bingo caller Santa. You are all stars. To our wonderful community of Liverpool makers it was so lovely to see so many of you there and to all other Liverpool Makers – we hope to see you at our next big event in 2026.
Merry Christmas to all the directors and members of DoES Liverpool.

Things of Note
- michael:Work #weeknotes time (a day late, as yesterday I had no writing energy):https://digitalflapjack.com/weeknotes/2025-12-08/Mostly looking at the challenges I faced when trying to pull together a very large map image (650 billion pixels!) in terms of both automating the process for reproducibility, and in terms of hitting up against resource limits and a bug in Python’s standard library.
- MCQN Ltd:Repairs and ramping up for production with @museuminabox; and @amcewen listening to Neil Diamond; all in a week’s work here.https://mcqn.com/posts/week-1053-whats-on-the-end-of-the-stick/#weeknotes
- matthewcroughan: First time I’ve heard audio on the #fairphone5 running #nixos, thanks to #postmarketos research in https://gitlab.postmarketos.org/postmarketOS/pmaports/-/issues/3793#note_510714, it will soon™ Just Work™ in a mainline kernel near you! - Adrian McEwen:TIL that Chile has a special currency continually adjusted for inflation, for use in contracts and the like** including the Government purchase portal that I’m registering @MCQN_Ltd on so a Chilean museum can buy some @museuminabox boxes 😁#weeknotes
