by | Oct 27, 2025 | Weeknotes | 0 comments

Each week we’ll endeavour to publish some details of the interesting things that members of DoES Liverpool have been up to over the past seven days. You can find out a bit more about them in our introductory post.

And remember, if you’re involved with DoES Liverpool at all, let us know what you get up to so we can include it here!

Saturday 01 November, 1:00pm-5:00pm Introduction to 3D Printing workshop on the first Saturday of each month,  with an emphasis on the DoES Liverpool 3D printers.

The following topics will be covered:

  • Basic components and operation of a filament 3D printer
  • Filament materials
  • Apps for creating and editing 3D models
  • Optimising designs for print
  • Useful sites for downloading existing models
  • Post-print and complementary processes
  • Tips, tricks and common problems

The course assumes general computer skills, and experience with some forms of computer graphics is very helpful. Attendees will require their own laptop and an SD card for transferring files to the 3D printer.
By the end of the course, attendees will be able to create their own basic designs and use the 3D printers at DoES Liverpool.
