Each week we’ll endeavour to publish some details of the interesting things that members of DoES Liverpool have been up to over the past seven days. You can find out a bit more about them in our introductory post.
And remember, if you’re involved with DoES Liverpool at all, let us know what you get up to so we can include it here!
Covid-19
Click here for details of the measures we’re currently taking related to the COVID-19 situation. We’ll keep you updated if anything changes – make sure you’re following us via our Google Group, and/or via social media.
Visor Project
We’ve been working with organisations across Liverpool, Manchester and beyond to produce effective, low-cost visors, to help healthcare professionals and others to keep doing their job throughout this crisis.
Tom Darlow has put together this short video to say thank you to all of you whose generosity has helped make this possible.
If you, or anyone you know, still needs visors then please fill in this form.
Things of Note
- Thomas Butler: So, what am I doing in lockdown?
Well… I got bored and re-created my dad’s favourite boardgame (Qwirkle Cubes) in C++ using Qt and developed an AI that can play against itself… Sometimes it tries 600 different valid combinations of its 6 pieces…

That sense of us all being equals, and all doing the work of building a better future, runs through the DoES Liverpool community and approach #weeknotes twitter.com/jonjalex/statu…
- Matthew Croughan: #weeknotes twitter.com/balena_io/stat…
- Matthew Croughan: After waiting a week for the CCP to approve my request, I finally own my Xioami Mi 9 Lite, bootloader unlocked, TWRP installed and running Android 9, #LineageOS, with a boot time of 10 seconds and no Google Play Services or Xiaomi Spydroid services or software. #weeknotes pic.twitter.com/OIfRrdLkWf
