Each week we’ll endeavour to publish some details of the interesting things that members of DoES Liverpool have been up to over the past seven days. You can find out a bit more about them in our introductory post.
And remember, if you’re involved with DoES Liverpool at all, let us know what you get up to so we can include it here!
Time for a Summer Boost!
Find out more about free Boost membership here, and apply for the next round, with membership from July 2025 – December 2025. Please pass on details to anyone else you know who might benefit.
Things of Note
- birkenhack: What started off as trash in the street, then became disused trash in a friend’s garden after they ran out of space for it, has become a shiny new 2D LED Matrix wall in Birkenhack after a good cleanup in the sink. There are five ingredients to this LED Matrix wall:
1. Plastic Bottles
2. Standard British Milk Crates
3. Tinfoil
4. LEDs
5. Esp32 running #WLED software

1. the heart (32 boops)
2. the prosthetic hand (23 boops)
3. assistive tech pen holder (20 boops)#GLAM #Wirral #weeknotes #ibal151 #museum #WirralMakefest2025 - DoES Liverpool:Julian experimenting with an approachable experience for taller people who are predominantly VR-shy – they get to see themselves as cute avatars in VR chat.
#WeekNotes - Jackie Pease: Excellent entertainment @DoESLiverpool from Kieran, after the Merseyside Cycle Campaign event. Check out his Bimblism YouTube channel here (https://youtube.com/@bimblismuk?si=rxvYuI2b4Gih4qbs) for cycling, #OpenStreetMap, guitar, industrial history etc. (thanks @Styles who arranged this).
