Each week we’ll endeavour to publish some details of the interesting things that members of DoES Liverpool have been up to over the past seven days. You can find out a bit more about them in our introductory post.
And remember, if you’re involved with DoES Liverpool at all, let us know what you get up to so we can include it here!
Paid Workshops
Take a look at our events page here for workshops coming up here at DoES Liverpool, including everything from Japanese block printing and soft toy making to 3D printing… If you’re quick, you might even get a space on one of Liz’s Sashiko workshops later this week – see links in the ‘Coming Up in the Next Week’ section below.
Please get in touch if you’re organising a workshop or other event here, and we’ll do our best to help publicise it for you.
Laser Cutter Inductions
A quick reminder that you can book a laser cutter induction on a Saturday afternoon or Wednesday evening for only £20. More details here.
Here’s Bea, with a Japanese braiding disk she laser cut after her laser induction on Saturday.
Group laser inductions are also available free at Maker Night and Maker Day. Just turn up and make yourself known to one of the organisers – you might have to wait for a short time.
Things of Note
- Karen returning her artwork “Retournesol” to DoES Liverpool, where it’s on loan, after its appearance at Liverpool MakeFest.
- Birkenhack:Two Birkenhackers successfully made a 32×32 LED panel work with #wled on a #esp32 on Tinker Night last Wednesday. Hopefully we can increase the size of the array on the next Tinker Night! We even used our Macintosh LCIII connected to the internet, to search how to wire it up. Since this machine is not powerful enough to display ads, we were able to work without distraction.#Birkenhack #birkenheadisthenewberlin #weeknotes #macintosh
- Birkenhack:The sun has set in #Birkenhead, it’s time to start hacking on some projects #birkenheadisthenewberlin #birkenhack #weeknotes
- MCQN Ltd:Fairly short #weeknotes this week. @huffeec and @amcewen do some architecting (of software), @defnetmedia wraps up our @lpoolmakefest sharing, and @amcewen does a bit of maintenance on the @DoESLiverpool office architecture (okay, maybe “architecture” is over-playing things 😀)https://mcqn.com/posts/week1032-DoorHandleBoss/
