Introduction to 3D Printing

Introduction to 3D Printing

So to get things rolling, how about a 4 hour Introduction to 3D Printing workshop on the first Saturday of each month, starting September? Emphasis on the DoES 3D printers.
We’ll cover the following topics:
  • Basic components and operation of a filament 3D printer
  • Filament materials
  • Apps for creating and editing 3D models
  • Optimising designs for print
  • Useful sites for downloading existing models
  • Post-print and complementary processes
  • Tips, tricks and common problems
The course assumes general computer skills, and experience with some forms of computer graphics is very helpful. Attendees will require their own laptop and an SD card (full size) for transferring files to the 3D printer.
By the end of the course, attendees will be able to create their own basic designs and use the 3D printers at DoES Liverpool.
Suggested fee £50/person for a minimum of 6, maximum 8 people.
