DESCRIPTION:So to get things rolling\, how about a 4 hour Introduction to 3D Printing workshop on the first Saturday of each month\, starting September? Emphasis on the DoES 3D printers.\n\n\nWe’ll cover the following topics:\n\n\nBasic components and operation of a filament 3D printer\nFilament materials\nApps for creating and editing 3D models\nOptimising designs for print\nUseful sites for downloading existing models\nPost-print and complementary processes\nTips\, tricks and common problems\n\nThe course assumes general computer skills\, and experience with some forms of computer graphics is very helpful. Attendees will require their own laptop and an SD card (full size) for transferring files to the 3D printer.\n\nBy the end of the course\, attendees will be able to create their own basic designs and use the 3D printers at DoES Liverpool.

Got clothes and accessories that need a little TLC? Bring them along\, and let’s mend and upcycle them together. \nA range of fabrics (including tea towels!)\, trimmings\, buttons and beads will be provided\, however if you have anything you want to bring to snazzify your garment with\, bring them along too! \nYou will learn how to apply textiles onto your clothing in creative ways as well as learn some basic hand sewing techniques like running stitch and whip stitch – everything you need to ensure your scraps stay onto your clothes. \nNot only is it planet friendly to upcycle as you’re prolonging the life of your clothing\, but you will leave the workshop feeling confident to carry on upcycling your clothes at home! \nPrevious sewing experience is not necessary as this will be taught\, and all equipment and materials will be provided.

Then how about coming along to this fun and creative workshop where we will be making our own fabric patches with a sewing machine! \nYou do not need experience with a sewing machine for this class! \nYou will learn how to create your own fabric patches using templates provided\, then once confident\, you can draw and create whatever you want in fabric patch form – teapot\, flowers\, animals\, whatever you want. Scarlett will on hand to help \nYou will also learn the various ways to layer textiles and how to sew them with a normal sewing foot as well as a free motion foot too. \nNot only is it planet friendly to upcycle as you’re prolonging the life of your older clothing\, but you will leave the workshop feeling confident to carry on upcycling your textiles at home! \nAll equipment and materials will be provided\, however if you have any images or fabric scraps you want to bring\, them bring along too.
