"Week 712 – Telepresence, Event Space Pictures, EE NB-IoT"

Each week we’ll endeavour to publish some details of the interesting things that members of DoES Liverpool have been up to over the past seven days. You can find out a bit more about them in our introductory post.

And remember, if you’re involved with DoES Liverpool at all, let us know what you get up to so we can include it here!

Community Meeting/Hack the Space Day

At our last community meeting (see this Google Group post for some interim meeting minutes) we agreed that the next meeting would be on Sunday 2nd February, and that we would combine it with a Hack the Space day. Space hacking is planned to start at 10am with the community meeting from 1pm to 3pm.

Please come along for both if you can!

  • DoES Liverpool:If you have never used the Does Liverpool events space or just used it to store your bike then here it is in all its glory. We’ve got to say Simon really put in a lot of work to make it look this good. • Adrian McEwen:This week we worked out that EE now (it was announced last year, not sure when it got turned on) has an NB-IoT network. We noticed because it decides to start dropping UDP packets after about 120KB of transfer, which is about 41% of the way through downloading a new firmware version.Turns out the devices we thought were in poor network coverage and wouldn’t update over the air had just chosen the EE network rather than the Vodafone one…#IoT #NBIoT #weeknotes
